Name: Tsurugi Kamiya
Door: Dominant (Re-app)

Canon: Servamp
Canon Point: Chapter 127

Age: 26
Appearance: here

History: here

Tsurugi was in Duplicity from the start of the game and as such has seen Duplicity change in a variety of different ways. Over time, he grew to actually like being in Duplicity, considering it was a break from his real life (his standards for what's 'good' have always been incredibly low). He remained superficial with most people -- there were people he'd call friends, but he, much like canon, kept people at an arm's length. People disappeared a lot in Duplicity, and it was best not to get close.

The one exception to the rule was Diva, his girlfriend of two years, who he got together with as a result of an unfortunate event. They lived together for most of that time and started something close to a 'family.' Tsurugi still didn't tell her much, but he was fond of her.

Otherwise, he spent most of his time bouncing from job to job (it's easy to get fired when you're entire personality is Bad) and ended up running Envy with Belial for a while.

In his return to the game after that, he worked for Envy again for a while and did... not much else. \\//
Personality:
- LIAR Lying is at the core of everything that Tsurugi does. Tsurugi's loyalty lies with one man, the man who rescued him as a child, Touma Taishi, and that loyalty runs deep. He's willing to lie to his friends, people he genuinely cares about, if it means furthering Touma's goals. He lies about simple things, from his whereabouts, to bigger things like not knowing who murdered his best friend's wife (spoilers: it was him). When confronted, he'll either come up with a fake scenario or he'll deflect, effectively lying by ommission.

He lies not only to the people around him, but to himself as well. What Tsurugi wants most is a family, but he's spent most of his life believing that having one is impossible and as a result, convinced himself that he doesn't really want anything at all. It's only recently with the inteference of the protagonist, Mahiru, that Tsurugi has started to believe that wanting things is okay.

It's not only negative lies that Tsurugi tells. As a child, he's caught stealing his best friend's essay about what he did that summer because he wanted his older self to have positive summer memories to look back on. Tsurugi often takes advantage of his poor memory (a result of overuse of magic) to lie and convince himself that things are better than they are, even in miniscule ways such as thinking he's been on trips he never went on or he's an age he no longer is.

Tsurugi hates the truth, his reality, and is willing to do whatever it takes to deny it.

- SHAMELESS As part of his act, Tsurugi has adopted a shameless persona. No joke is too far for him, and he's particularly fond of lewd and lascivious behavior. He isn't just shameless with his sexuality, though. He's willing to do any task, no matter how personally degrading, if it means he will get paid for it. He's gone so far as to lick shoes for money or to let people step on him for their personal enjoyment. Tsurugi has no issue selling himself for a quick buck, as evidenced by him going on compensated dates. The people around him are so used to his attitude that they'll give him their garbage to eat, as he's too cheap to buy his own food.

While Tsurugi will do anything for money, he's surprisingly lazy when it comes to the bureaucractic parts of his job. While vampire killing (and murder in general) are specialties of his, when it comes to things like paperwork, he will shamelessly cry in front of his superiors in order to get someone else to do it. His personal profile lists his special skill as 'bowing down,' which basically means that he has no issue showing complete submission and embarrassing himself in order to get out of anything serious.

- AMBITIONLESS Tsurugi takes life as it's handed to him. He lacks aspirations and has no real goals set for himself. Growing up, Touma shaped Tsurugi into the perfect weapon to wield against his enemies. Tsurugi's long since given up his individuality and views himself as the tool he was raised to be.

Tsurugi has expected his entire life to die as a sacrificial pawn to the big bad of his series, Tsubaki, and as such has tossed aside any hope for an actual future. He says he gave up hope for everything, even things as simple as being able to join a school club or having a real relationship. While this has improved some since Mahiru influenced Tsurugi to be more hopeful, his ambitionless nature hasn't gone away entirely. Even now, while desiring more for his life, he fully expects to have to die and therefore hasn't really considered a future beyond "living might be nice."

+ RESILIENT While Tsurugi has a lot of flaws, his resilience is something to be admired. He's been through a lot in life, from being raised to be a weapon to watching the closest thing he had to a father figure be murdered in front of him. He's depressed, but he's still standing. Setbacks that would normally break a person are all things that Tsurugi handles with a surprising amount of ease. Even when he'd thought Touma, the person he dedicated his entire life to, had killed himself, it's seen as just another bump in the road. He goes about his day. He may run on auto-pilot a lot of the time, but Tsurugi is strong enough to keep going.

Powers and Abilities:
MAGICAL ABILITY: Tsurugi manipulates magical energy in order to attack. It's explained in his canon that the strength of magic is based on the severity of the emotions magicians are taught to suppress. In his case, he's the strongest fighter in his company's combat unit.

While magic in Servamp can be used in a variety of ways, Tsurugi most commonly uses his to manifest in a sword for offensive attacks or as ropes to bind opponents. Less commonly used, Tsurugi is capable of binding people to him by a collar that prevents them from separating too far from him. He's also able to shoot magic like arrows to pierce enemies from afar.

Using magic comes at a price, though, and for every spell he uses, he comes closer to dying. Overuse of magic causes hallucinations and delusions.

AGILITY: Tsurugi has above average speed and is fast enough to run sideways along walls. His speed, other than his magic, is said to be his strongest ability, and he's capable of keeping up with even superhuman creatures.
